Now That's What I Call an Eighties Revival

On one of the rare balmy summer evenings this year so far, this informal celebration of 80's hit songs, even had the Mayor of Whitworth lan Mycock, rocking in the aisles. As part of the Whitworth Festival, the show packed them in over the three nights of performance, from Friday to Sunday. The 80's has left us with a legacy of great songs and thanks to producer and creator Andrew Kearns the show included most of them.
The company of 20 performers was backed by an impressive seven-piece band of talented musicians who played keyboards, guitars, drums and included some impressive solo sax playing from Sam Mason. The show also had some company dance routines by Kath Grundy, which included a great interpretation of Michael Jackson's Thriller. To list the songs and to single out individual performers would not give you a true impression of the show.
This was not an evening of Stars in your Eyes sound-a-likes, as each soloist gave each song their own treatment. You could see the performers were having a great time and as a result so did the audience.
This revival was such a strong ensemble piece that was non-stop, the many hours of rehearsal really paid off resulting in a great festival atmosphere, it didn't give you time to catch your breath let alone get to the bar.
