With two inspired additions to the band, (keyboard player Richard Harper and drummer Pete Smith), Crimson Scarlet made a much welcomed comeback at the Broadfield Hotel Rochdale, on Friday 10 September.
The now 5-piece band came about through a passion for live music and song-writing, they are skilled performers that have an obvious talent for writing beautiful songs.
With an inspiring, mature classic rock sound, this band isn't afraid to take their music to a different level. Unlike many of today's rock bands their warm melodies and touching lyrics reach inside and intrigue the minds of their fans.
The evening began with the pleasure of a delicious meal followed by the live performance from Crimson Scarlet and their variety of tight songs kept everybody on their toes.
The music immediately drew the audience in, with a clear message that this band is genuinely different. As well as knowing the key to creating lovely melodies, there is a sense of wellness that shines in the quality of their work, their emotions are genuine, their lyrics tell a story, while their instruments create the mood.
Songs written by the two co-writers, Paul Preston and Malcolm Journeaux, including old favourites Amore, Beloved, and New Life Story, as well as new material such as Pirouette and Liquid Suicide, left the Broadfield audience eager to hear more of their soulful writing talents.
The comeback of Crimson Scarlet was the highlight of the night, and along with the delicious meal and after-gig dj, it was definitely a night to be remembered. We just hope there's much more to come from Crimson Scarlet!
